Alright so I previously wrote a critique and accidentally closed the tab that I was working on it with so, that's a bummer because I wrote a lot. Let me try to copy what I said.
Basically, this was on the front page and was the first thing that caught my eye. It's stunning, beautiful, and brilliant. I don't know much, or anything really, about fractal art, and haven't heard the term until just now!
Let me start with the kitty's left eye. I think that the pupil is too round. If you could shape it a bit more like the other eye, it would look more balanced. Perhaps you could try doing that by just extending the black part more towards the upper lid and getting rid of that round shape.
As for the colors... as a total crazy cat lady, I like the fact that you chose a white kitty! White kitties are beautiful. I've never seen a white kitty with yellow eyes, though. I mean I have, but not in person. Even my old white, brown and black kitty had blue eyes. Usually, white kitties have piercing blue eyes. In other words, I like that you chose yellow, but I think that you could enhance the color and maybe make it stand out more against the kitty's white fur.
Other than this, the shading is amazing for anything that I could ever do with a bunch of lines! But you could add a little bit of shine to the kitty's eyes. Maybe the light source should be from above, since she is looking up, and a little bit of light wouldn't hurt.
I see the blue in the other eye... that kind of gives it the effect of light, but if you are going to do that to one eye, do it to the other as well. As well as the lines even inside of the right pupil.
Overall, this piece deserves to have a place on the front page, and I'm glad it does! Wonderful work. I'm glad that this was my first fractal piece of artwork that I've actually seen! Makes me want to get into it.
I think this is a very interesting piece of art. I have seen this style a few times before and I'm always amazed at how it is created. The technique used to create the fur is incredible and the eyes are stunning. One thing I might point out is that the pupil in the eye to the right is possibly a bit to blended with the eye colour, the pupil in the eye to the left has a stronger difference. One other little tip I would offer is maybe next time adding a bit more colour to the eyes if possible. Most eyes, in all animals, have a few different shades of the main colour. This goes back to what photoshopcc said about a bit of shine in the eyes. I think just a touch of shine would make the eyes really pop. However this is you artwork so it is totally up to you if you want to add some shine.
Overall I feel this is an inspirational and incredible piece of art and I can't wait to see more of it from you.
I hope one day I will be able to get my head around fractal art and be able to do it as well as you can.
This is art, and I respect you for doing your thing.. however, I don't believe this kind of work should be submitted to photomanip. I think the fractal gallery would be more suited. My 2-cents
Oh my god I Can't win first of all I originally put this and my other fractal pieces in the fractal gallery then I Was told by quite a few people its NOT true fractal so should go into photo manip animals and plants which is what I did lol maybe I should do a poll does this belong in fractals or photomanip :s
